Analysis of common conductive slip ring problems
Conductive slip rings are widely used in industrial products, ranging from the monitoring we can see in our daily life to wind turbines, weapon turntable equipment, radars and aircraft, etc., and they are also important components. Therefore, when purchasing conductive slip rings, you must choose matching and good quality slip rings. The following slip ring manufacturers will tell you about the analysis of common conductive slip ring problems.
1.Conductive slip rings do not rotate smoothly
The rotation of the slip ring is related to the internal parts and bearings. The processing accuracy of the internal parts will also affect the rotation of the slip ring. If the bearing is well selected and the processing accuracy is high, the rotation flexibility of the slip ring is very good. The slip ring manufacturer reminds that you must choose a suitable slip ring. The following is a negative example: the customer chooses a very thin-walled bearing, and the vibration in the use environment is particularly large, but before ordering the slip ring, the vibration level of the environment is not told to us, resulting in the anti-seismic effect of the slip ring not meeting the requirements of the environment. Therefore, the bearing wall is damaged during transportation, and the rotation is naturally not smooth. Therefore, when users choose to order slip rings, they must tell the slip ring manufacturer the requirements of the use environment, working parameters, etc., so that they can choose the right conductive slip ring.
2.Slip ring heating, short circuit and burning
Generally, if the conductive slip ring rotates at high speed, such as above 5000RPM, it is normal for the surface of the slip ring to heat up a little. This is caused by rotational friction and does not require special treatment. Certain precautions have been made for this phenomenon at the beginning of the slip ring design. Some customers have problems with short circuits or even burning when using slip rings. This phenomenon is generally caused by current overload. Each input and output line group of the slip ring has its rated working voltage and current. If it exceeds the rated range, it will cause the loop to short circuit or burn. In this case, the conductive slip ring must be stopped and returned to the slip ring manufacturer for inspection.
3.Slip rings have large signal interference
We know that slip rings can not only transmit current, but also various signals. Usually, they can also transmit mixed signals between various signals, or mixed current and signal. At this time, interference will occur. No matter what kind of signal it is, we usually shield the inside and outside of the slip ring, especially the shielding of the wire. Sometimes each wire will be shielded accordingly to strictly ensure stable signal transmission without distortion or packet loss.
Slip ring manufacturers remind that special attention must be paid to the compliance of the protection level of the slip ring with the use environment. The use environment of each user is different. Some environments are dusty, some have water vapor, some are outdoor, some are indoor, and some have corrosive gases such as acid and alkali in the air. When choosing a slip ring, be sure to inform the slip ring manufacturer of this information truthfully. The manufacturer will design and produce different slip rings for different use environments.
